Auctions Guidelines

  • Do not abuse the Auctions system.

    • If you find a bug or exploit regarding auctions, please report it by submitting a ticket at https://support.top.gg

  • Do not bid if you do not intend to pay.

    • We understand that sometimes things happen and you cannot make a payment. However, bidding with the intention of not paying is not allowed. If you have made an accidental bid, please read “When is a user eligible for a bid removal?” for more information.

  • Do not issue a chargeback or threaten to dispute a charge.

    • If you have a problem with a payment or want a refund, please reach out to us via https://support.top.gg. Chargebacks will result in being banned from Auctions.

What can I advertise on Auctions?

By default, you can advertise any Discord Bot or Server in which you have access to (such as one you are the owner of, or one you are on the team of). However, you can also create products on our auctions site to be able to link to any website/product.

  • Your advertisement should not contain or distribute content with profanity, nudity, pornography, or other sexual content which a reasonable user would potentially not want to view in a public or private setting.

  • Your advertisement should not be malicious or misinforming towards the user, or misrepresenting the product advertised.

  • Your advertisement should not contain or distribute content with violence or threatening behavior, as well as hate speech targeting individuals or groups of people. This includes but is not limited to: heritage, religion, race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender, sexual orientation, affiliation, or disabilities.

  • Note that we allow communities that are focused towards adult members, however your advertisement should not contain content, mention terms, or utilize categories that indicate a more mature audience. In addition, if you are advertising a server that Discord has flagged as NSFW via their API, your advertisement may be removed as well.

  • Your advertisement should not contain or otherwise refer to a competitor to Top.gg, such as other bot, server, or DAO lists.

  • Your advertisement should not contain or distribute illegal or guideline-breaking content. This includes but is not limited to: violence, fraud, illegal drug use, underage drinking, or child or animal abuse.

If your advertisement is in violation of our policies, your advertisement may be removed without warning and a refund will not be issued. Repeated violations may result in termination of access to our services.

How to reach out for Auctions Support?

If you have an issue with Auctions, need to request a refund, ask for a bid removal, or have any questions and want to talk to a Support Associate,  you can do so by reaching out to us via https://support.top.gg/ - submit a ticket and mark the category of the request as Auctions. You can also reach out to us via the auctions-support channel in our Discord Server - community members and volunteer staff may be able to provide basic solutions for questions but users with the Support Associate role are Top.gg employees that have access to Auctions information. If you would like private Discord support with just a Support Associate, you can create a private thread in the auctions-support channel and ping the @Support Team role; then wait patiently for a response.

We will respond to all Auctions related questions or issues within 24 hours, whether submitted via tickets or our Discord. We do also provide live support on our Discord around our Auctions timeline. The live blocks are as follows:

  • 6PM - 8PM UTC Mondays (Auction cycle ends @ 7PM UTC)

  • 6PM - 8PM UTC Tuesdays (Advertisements go live and Auction cycle begins @ 7-8PM UTC)

When can I ask for my bid to be removed?

We highly recommend double checking any bid you place before placing it, both the amount of money you are bidding and the product that you are bidding with - you are responsible for your bids and paying them if you are required to do so. However, you do have the ability to ask for a Support Associate to remove your bid under certain circumstances.

Note that any incorrectly submitted bids that a Support Associate is not able to delete in time due to urgency is still your responsibility.

  • The request for the removal of the bid should be made within 1 hour of the bid’s placement.

  • The bid cannot have been made in the last 10 minutes of an auction ending.

  • The bid will not be removed if the user has had a bid removed in the past 30 days, to prevent abuse of this removal system. We can remove multiple bids at this same time, but a request should only happen once per 30 days.

  • We reserve the right to reject bid removals under our discretion (e.g. if it was clearly made to outbid someone else repeatedly).

When can I ask for a refund?

You may be entitled to a refund in the following circumstances:

  • If an automatic refund for missed impressions is an incorrect amount.

  • If you were charged for something that you do not believe you should have been charged for.

  • If you were accidentally charged twice for the same purchase, or accidentally paid twice.

  • If you paid for your advertisement but it never went live and you did not receive an automatic refund.

In each case, the Support Associate may look into your payment and bid history to confirm the situation before issuing a refund. It is recommended to have your order reference ID number handy to provide.
